I like your interpretation,
I personally don't think God cares =) our body's are His temple, but I think our body=our heart, and the stuff that can break in and deface our hearts is certainly not ink and needles.

perhaps spraypaint is our way of saying we don't respect the building. perhaps we think we could've done a better job of creating ourselves. perhaps God's beauty isn't beautiful enough.
